That's a unique recipe, Trupti-- rice and potatoes in a wada sounds unusual but delicious. Is this a traditional recipe?

Usha, usually we eat swang rice (Bhagar, varai, Sauri) at the time of fasting. The grains of this rice are very small. In maharashtra we usually eat this cooked rice with peanut curry for fast. You can get this rice in any indian store.
Hi Vaishali, this is not a traditional recipe. Actually we had a lot of left over at my frds house so we used leftover swang rice, left over potato sabji for this vada.
Hi Trupti, this vada is very different. Usually we make sabudana vada. It is so special & yummy.
Looks delicious, Trupti! I'd not heard of swang rice. WIll look out for it at my next Indo grocery shopping.
What interesting idea..
Added 1/2 cup of quiona to varai, great for ekadasi dish! - David
