Puran Poli, Tandlache Thalipeeth and Gulachi Poli

You all must be wondering why I am posting these recipes again. There is a good reason behind this. When I read that Srivalli , the one who hosted Grand Dosa Mela last month is hosting Roti Mela this month, I thought I will send her my previously posted Indian Bread recipes first. So I am writing this post. Puran Poli & Tandalache Talipeeth are my favourite Indian bread varieties.

Puran Poli (also known as Obbattu, Baksham ) is a traditional Indian Bread prepared in Maharashtra, Gujrath & South India. Mostly this Poli is served during auspicious occasions and important festivals. There are different variations according to region. In Maharashtra we mostly use Chick Pea & Jaggery stuffing. Here is the recipe of my version of Puran Poli

Tandlache Thalipeeth which is also known as Rice Flour Roti. Just like rice flour, you can use any type of flour and make roti. You can add different types of chopped vegetables or leftover sabjis in it. So here is my version of Tandlache Thalipeeth (Rice Flour Roti)

These are my first two entries for Roti Mela. I am going to send more entries so stay tunned. You can also send your entries. The last date of recipe submittion is 20th June

Update:
I want to add one more my favorite indian bread here which is already posted. This one is Gulachi -Shengdana Poli (Jaggery - Peanut Roti). We usually make this Roti at the time of Sankranti. This roti is useful in winter weather. You can make these rotis for long travel.

Both the recipes are awesome. I can never make good puran poli for crying out loud. I loved the tandlache rotti also, my mother used to make it in banana leaf and it is called mumbri.
